It is no longer required. However, if you want to be sure of a specific time slot, we do recommend booking in advance. You can do so by clicking the "Buy Tickets" button at the top of this page. For larger events, such as Sinterklaas, we strongly recommend booking in advance. The ticket menu displays the correct prices and available dates and times.

Tickets can be changed up to 24 hours in advance using the link in the email you received.

Yes, you can also buy tickets at the castle ticket office. On busy days or during events, a time slot may be sold out.

The castle garden inside the walls is part of the museum. A castle ticket is required to visit it.

No, that's not necessary. The tickets can also be scanned using a mobile phone. 

Please note: Vouchers from the AH promotion, Postcode Lottery, and Friends Lottery must be presented at the register.

Advance reservations are no longer required. However, we do recommend making a reservation on busy days or during events. Don’t forget to bring your vouchers and hand them in at the castle ticket office.

Yes, you can also purchase the children's activity at the ticket counter. 

We also offer some children’s activities as add-ons to your online ticket; this field will appear on the screen after you select your admission tickets. 

Yes, the Museumjaarkaart and Museumkids cards are valid at the castle.

No, unfortunately not. Order the ticket online at Museum.nl. Please allow an average of 5 days for delivery.

Accessibility

In the castle garden, there is a scale model designed to give a tangible impression of the castle complex. In the museum rooms with historic interiors, nothing may be touched, but there are tactile objects in the cellars, the Armory, and the Iron Tower. A group tour (€35 per guide + admission fee per person) for the visually impaired can be requested via reserveren@kasteelheeswijk.nl 

All areas on the ground floor are accessible. In the Koetshuis (café/restaurant), there is a chair lift to the first floor. On the upper floors of the museum buildings and in the basements, there are many small steps, risers, and narrow passageways. Wheelchairs and walkers are not permitted in these areas. Strollers must be parked in the coat check or in the designated area.

Mobility scooters and electric wheelchairs are permitted and may only be used in the castle gardens, on the squares, and in the Wapenzaal (wedding/concert hall).

You can reserve a wheelchair for a visit to the ground floor of the castle viareserveren@kasteelheeswijk.nl (Wheelchairs are not permitted outside the castle).

No, there is no elevator in the castle. There are no elevators in the other buildings either. The castle has several small staircases and steps on each floor.

There is a chairlift to the upper floor of the Koetshuis (restaurant and bar area). It is accessible only to guests with restaurant or meeting reservations.

For visitors with disabilities, a parking permit is available for the small parking lot at the rear of the castle. Dropping off guests at the gate is possible upon request, after which the car must be parked in the small parking lot. Requests for parking permits and drop-off arrangements can be made using the contact form below.

A map, available for €1.00, provides a guide to the museum tour. The app also offers textual explanations, and there are several educational displays along the route in the basement. You can request a guided tour for the hearing-impaired for €30 per guide, in addition to the admission fee, by emailing reserveren@kasteelheeswijk.nl

The admission fee for wheelchair users is €8. The fee has been adjusted because the upper floor and the basement vaults are not wheelchair accessible.

Directions and Parking

Parking on Kanaaldijk Noord in Heeswijk-Dinther is free. Enter the following into your navigation system: Heeswijk Castle Parking Lot

5 to 10 minutes down the historic driveway. 

There is a spacious bicycle parking area on the avenue in front of the castle.

Bicycles (including road bikes without locks) are not permitted inside the castle gates.

There are 6 charging stations at the bike rack in front of the castle bridge.

Unfortunately, there are currently no charging stations for electric cars.

Other questions

Only official service dogs are allowed inside the buildings. Outside the buildings, all dogs are allowed—provided they are on a leash. There is no kennel available.

The entire tour of the castle buildings and gardens, including the audio guide, takes about 1.5 hours. You can take a break at De Barones along the way. Keep your admission ticket to continue later, or ask for a stamp.

The app can be downloaded via a QR code at various locations throughout the castle.

Yes, free Wi-Fi is available for visitors to the castle and guests at Bij de Barones.

The coat check areas in the castle and at Bij de Barones (restaurant) are unattended. The museum also offers a limited number of lockers with keys (free of charge). 

If the backpack is worn on your front, you may bring it into the castle. In all other cases, you can store it in a locker in the coat check area or hand it over to a volunteer.

You are not allowed to bring your stroller or buggy into the castle museum. You can leave it in the coat check. We recommend bringing a baby carrier for very young children. 

Photos and videos may be taken for personal use without a flash or other artificial lighting (of course, only with handheld cameras and not with a tripod). Please be mindful of the privacy of other attendees and do not block the passageway.

The castle and estate are located within the no-fly zone for drones at Volkel and Eindhoven airports. 

Drone footage is permitted only during scheduled photo shoots, up to the height of the castle’s roof, and without infringing on the privacy of visitors who are not part of the scheduled group.

No, you may consume food and drinks you have brought with yououtside the castle moat.

We are happy to accommodate groups of 8 or more by reservation. Please email your request to reserveren@kasteelheeswijk.nl 

We do not accept reservations for the terrace.

We hold lost items at the Front Office for up to two weeks. You can report your loss by email toinfo@kasteelheeswijk.nl

The Treasure of December 5

The exhibition on December 5 is open during the castle's regular hours:

Tue–Sun from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. (last ticket sales and food and beverage service at 4 p.m.).

For the extra festive weekends featuring Sinterklaas and Black Peter, the admission pricesare: €10 for children ages 4 and up and €15 for adults. The Museum Card is valid on these days for an additional fee. Other discount offers do not apply during the Sinterklaas weekends.

Yes, the Museum Card is valid every day during "De Schat" on December 5. During the extra festive weekends, a surcharge of €3 applies to both children and adults.

You are not allowed to bring your stroller or buggy into the castle museum. You can park it in the stroller tent in front of the Coach House. We recommend bringing a baby carrier for very young children. 

From Tuesday through Friday, during the low-stimulation museum visit, St. Nicholas and Black Peter will not be present. This is a great outing for the youngest children and for anyone who finds it a bit overwhelming.

During the extra festive weekends, St. Nicholas and Black Peter will be there, and as is tradition, they’ll have a little surprise for children ages 4 and up.
