Located in the wooded surroundings of the Aa River valley, Natuurpoort Kasteel Heeswijk is an ideal starting point for a walk or bike ride. The castle has stood here for about 1,000 years, long serving as an impregnable fortress on the Aa, surrounded by marshes. From the castle, you can enjoy beautiful walks and bike rides through the woods, lanes, and fields of the estate, crisscrossed by the winding Aa. The kingfisher is a regular visitor to the castle moat.
