The Mystery of the Missing Staircase!

Discover the secret passages, doors, hatches, and staircases that the castle staff used to use. One staircase has disappeared… Can you guess where? Line up the letters you find at the bottom of the scavenger hunt, do a little puzzle-solving, and discover the spot!

The King's Little Suitcase

An Important Visit to Heeswijk Castle! 350 years ago, King Louis XIV visited the castle. Find out why and what his favorite food was.

Do you know how old he was when he became king? Take a good look around during your tour of the castle and discover the answers.
Plenty to do
Decorate the little suitcase with the stickers and turn it into a real travel suitcase. Use the craft kit to make your own sundial! Follow the instructions and, just like the Sun King, you’ll learn to tell time with the help of the sun—how cool is that!

What do you know about water at the castle? Why is there a moat? Was there a bathroom? Or a shower? Join Donate and Otello, the castle swans, as they dive into the history of water at the castle. Take a good look around during your tour of the castle and play the castle card game at home!

For children, the castle is a real treat: 

Find the secret staircases and passageways in the castle, climb the tower, try on a knight’s helmet, or listen to the castle’s fascinating stories.
