Chateau d’Heeswijk Liberated – A 2-day living history event featuring a real battle

Back to the French era. The castle comes alive with a glimpse into the past. More than 200 living history reenactors put on a colorful spectacle at the castle in their magnificent costumes. They reenact the battle between the French Republican Army and the Allies with a parade and authentic battles.

On Saturday at 11:30 a.m., the troops will be inspected in the castle garden by Hermance Gransberg-Baroness van Heeckeren van Kell. At 12:00 p.m., the battle will begin across from the castle, complete with live rifle and cannon fire. Don’t forget your earplugs! After the battle, the “survivors” will retreat to their camp.
