Rich history
The walking package is suitable for young and old and is perfect for families with children. The walk is 3.5 kilometers long and takes you past the most beautiful spots on the estate.
Along the way you can enjoy a fresh coffee At the Baroness and you can find a lovely spot for your picnic on the estate.
But that's not all. In fact, the estate has a rich history dating back to the Middle Ages. The estate is connected to the Zuid-Willemsvaart, now the Máxima Canal, which was used to supply building materials for the castle. In addition, you will find the oldest heated garden greenhouses in the Netherlands on the estate, as you stroll along the blind lane.
The Blind Lane takes its name from the blind squire's daily walks, where the farmer from the nearby farm on the estate would greet him and point out where he was. The castle looms everywhere, an iconic presence that enchants and invites you to embrace its rich history. It is a journey back in time, with each step bringing you closer to the secrets of the castle.
Hiking Package
The walking package is the ideal way to explore the estate. At various places you will see another glimpse of the castle, stately, surprising and different from every angle. The package includes a bag with:
- A booklet with directions (3.5 km)
- 2 bottles of water
- Something sweet for the road
The walking package costs €12.50 for two people and €9.50 for one person. Order the package in advance online and pick up your bag and directions at the Baroness in the Coach House upon presentation of your online order. From Tuesday to Sunday between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. you can explore the estate of Kasteel Heeswijk together.
