Meierijsche Museum Farm
In the Meierijsche Museumboerderij you will discover how people lived and worked on a farm between 1880 and 1930. You step into the shoes of a farmer from 1897 and experience the customs and practices of that time. During a tour the guides tell fascinating stories and take you completely into the experience. The farm is located in romantic and wooded surroundings. The museum consists of three buildings. The first building is the farm itself, here you really experience the historical feeling through the interior and appearance of the farm. The second building, also called the 'schob' is the visitor center, there you can watch a film about farm life between 1900 and 1930. The last building the 'karschob' is mainly used for educational programs or meetings. Here there is also a historic baking oven in which delicious farm-floor breads are still regularly baked to an ancient recipe. The farm is not just any building, it is a beautiful national monument.
Kilsdonk Mill, one of a kind
At this mill, heritage has been given new life. The mill is a combination of a water-flight corn mill and a water-driven oil mill. Among other things, this combination makes the Kildonk Mill so unique, even on an international scale. To this day, there is still a lot of life in the mill. For example, you can take a guided tour through the mill or take a tour on the Aa with the whisper boat. During this boat trip you can admire Castle Heeswijk once again from a different perspective. The mill is still in operation, every Saturday the millers are grinding grain and beating oil. Beautifully situated on the water, this mill is definitely worth a visit.
